Eligibility
You need to be a Portuguese citizen or legal resident to use Portugal’s official process. Non-residents cannot access this system.
Non-binary recognition
Portugal’s official system currently only recognizes masculino (male) and feminino (female). Non-binary gender markers are not yet available, though advocacy continues.
